Repairs - Ford Focus II MK 2 (DA3) - complete failure instrument cluster

Complete failure of the instrument cluster.

The fault can manifest itself through a series of failures:

The lighting in the speedometer, the other switches and instruments in the interior flickers. The pointers go crazy. The speedometer or rev counter fail alternately. The ESP indicator lamp lights up. The radio and window control may fail.
The fault often occurs at low temperatures. After the interior has warmed up or after a long journey, everything works perfectly again.

Only dashes are shown in the odometer and trip odometer display. The engine then stops accelerating, stalls or does not start at all.
The radio and the power windows fail. If you jiggle the instrument cluster, the fault is temporarily rectified.

The indicator lights in the instrument cluster come on and the vehicle clearly loses power.
Fault code: U 0155
Instrument panel control unit: no communication

The trip odometer resets every few minutes
