GPS Repairs - Skoda Yeti (5L) - complete failure RNS Columbus

Complete failure of the RNS Columbus.

The device hangs on the start screen after switching on. No more functions can be selected. Radio and sound output do not work.
A warning message requests that the sat nav CD be inserted, but this does not help either.

An incorrect part number is recognised when diagnosing the vehicle.

The following other faults can be rectified:

• Boot loop error: The RNS Columbus radio navigation unit is in an endless loop. After switching on, the device gets stuck at the start screen. The radio then switches itself off and restarts only as far as the start screen.
• Radio navigation unit RNS Columbus switches off automatically.
• Radio navigation unit RNS Columbus switches off with a crackling/ popping sound.
• Radio navigation unit RNS Columbus starts up very slowly.
• Radio navigation unit RNS Columbus can no longer be operated/ hangs up.
• The display of the radio navigation unit RNS Columbus switches off briefly and the message "System is starting" is permanently shown in the display. The RNS Columbus radio navigation unit remains in this state and can no longer be operated.
• The software update has failed. The RNS Columbus radio navigation unit can no longer be operated.
• Radio navigation unit RNS Columbus suddenly requests the PIN code.
• Radio navigation unit RNS Columbus does not accept the PIN code.
• The display of the radio navigation unit RNS Columbus shows "The desired language is being loaded" and remains in this state after:
  - the theft code has been entered or
  - the language setting has been changed
• Temporarily no sound output (regardless of the selected audio source).
• No sound output after the diagnostics have been completed.
• The touchscreen is without function.
• Radio navigation unit RNS Columbus loses radio station memory.
• The station frequencies are temporarily not displayed ("--" in the display).
• SD card and/or hard disk drive (HDD) cannot be selected.
• DVD or CD is not recognised.
• Navigation only possible with DVD inserted.
• Navigation DVD is not or not completely copied to the hard disk drive (HDD).
• Radio navigation unit RNS Columbus does not recognise own location.
• Destination data cannot be saved or is lost.
• Navigation image is frozen. After some downtime, it is OK again.
• Log memory entry: SAECode 862 - Antenna for navigation (GPS) -R50/R52...7 - Short circuit to ground.
• No communication with the gateway control unit (log memory entry).
• No communication via CAN bus. Device does not respond to other CAN bus components such as the ignition key.
