Repairs - VW Passat B8 (3G) - complete failure - virtual cockpit

Complete failure of the digital instrument cluster.

The Virtual Cockpit fails, meaning that the driver assistance systems are no longer available, as they use the Virtual Cockpit’s graphical interface. The warning tones and the clicking sound of the indicators are no longer heard.

Various error messages appear on the digital instrument cluster, such as:

- ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) unavailable
- Front Assist unavailable
- Error: Instrument cluster. See a garage!

With the 10-inch instrument clusters, in some cases the display remains black and only the indicator lights and the side displays remain lit. In other cases, one of the side displays may also fail, whilst the remaining displays function as normal.

The 12-inch Active Info Display (AID) remains completely dark; only individual indicator lights remain lit.
